Everything I Never Said

This was the first song I completely produced on Logic X Pro on my own. After arduous hours teaching myself how to use the software on LinkedIn learning, I spent 3 days locked in my room, mixing away. I had done the production, the mixing, and the singing. It was my quarantine project that soon turned into a passion. The song was very special to me, emphasizing the importance of acting when the time is right. However, the song doesn’t simply reflect everything that I personally should have said when I had the chance, but it serves as a reminder to anyone who needs it NOT to stay silent when they have the chance to speak up. It reflects the immense regret we all feel — days, weeks, months, or even YEARS later — when we never spoke our mind when we KNOW really should have when we know it could have changed everything. I released the song amidst the #blacklivesmatter, intending my message to apply, especially regarding social activism. I wanted my audience to know that the time to speak up, to SAY something is now. We all have a voice.

Oasis

Swimming in upbeat synths and soothing harmonies, ‘oasis’ is the second song I engineered myself. It all began with four chords I played with on my piano in my parents’ basement during quarantine. The song is an ode to those who’ve held on to hope, despite drowning. It’s a song about wishing so badly for someone to be your savior, pleading for them to quench the thirst you've had for years. Ultimately, it’s just an illusion.
